Client Testimonials

As someone that was diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder in my early 20s. I always knew that this is something I would struggle with. As I got older and there were more responsibilities mounting and life got more serious and quick, my OCD spiked over the last two years. My therapist, Dorothy has helped me organize my thoughts, help me with visualization and ultimately I hear her voice when I am spiraling to calm down. It is so important to have a great relationship with a therapist that really understands obsessive compulsive disorder because it is more than just intrusive thoughts. Dorothy , understood how much this consumed my life and often gently challenged me with thought provoking questions in order for me to regain my control over this disorder.

““You will never be in the same place twice “ . That simple grounding statement has changed my life so much . After 6 months of working together I started to see so much change that I was scared I would go back to the way I was before I started therapy. Dorothy , assured me that’s unless I had a time machine I will never be in same place twice . It sounds silly but this helps ground me anytime I start to catastrophize. “

OUR SERVICES

What We Do

Anxiety comes from our natural instinct to stay safe. It’s a normal feeling, but when it overwhelms us, it can be tough. Therapy like CBT helps us rethink and change how we respond to anxious thoughts, so they become more manageable and less scary.

Depression can make life feel like a never-ending struggle. With dialectical behavioral therapy, we work on breaking the cycle of triggers, how you respond, and avoiding things that worsen it. This helps improve your life and bring back a sense of balance.

Over time, habits like pulling hair, picking skin, or having verbal and physical tics can become automatic. With habit reversal training, you can learn to take back control over these actions that might feel unstoppable, and empower yourself to manage them better.

OCD comes from needing to be sure about things. You might feel safer doing rituals because they give you predictability. Over time, though, these rituals can take over, like an addiction. Gradual exposure therapy helps reduce the anxiety from repetitive thoughts and actions, so you can find calmness and feel more in control.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What’s on your mind?

CBT focuses on understanding how your thoughts, feelings, and actions are connected. In therapy, you'll learn practical strategies to change negative thought patterns and behaviors that impact your well-being, aiming for lasting improvements in how you manage challenges and emotions.

DBT is a therapy that helps you manage intense emotions by learning skills in mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. It focuses on accepting your current feelings while also working towards positive changes in how you cope and relate to others, both in individual and group settings.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) therapy helps people with anxiety disorders, like OCD, by gradually confronting feared situations or thoughts while refraining from compulsive behaviors. It teaches you to face anxiety triggers in a controlled way, reducing avoidance and building resilience to anxiety over time.

Habit Reversal Training (HRT) helps you manage repetitive behaviors by identifying triggers, learning alternative responses, and practicing strategies to interrupt and change the habit effectively over time.

You can contact us via phone or email to schedule a complimentary 15-minute consultation to see if therapy is a good match for you.

In our first session , we'll start by thinking about what you hope to achieve through therapy. What signs or improvements would show you that therapy is making a difference for you? I believe in a client-centered approach where you get to decide what success looks like and how we can track your progress.

Everyone's journey in therapy is unique, so there's no one-size-fits-all timeline. I take an adaptable and team-based approach, considering your personal background, culture, and environment that influence how you respond to therapy. Together, we'll set goals and objectives that could range from a focused period of around 6 months to ongoing long-term support.

We offer therapy services online for residents of Florida, Mississippi, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. We accept insurance plans such as United Healthcare, Cigna, Aetna, Oxford, and Oscar Health. For those without insurance, we provide affordable options, with self-pay rates typically around $150 per session or special package rates available.
